Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the PotashCorp Fireworks Festival?

The Festival takes place at three different riverside venues: River Landing, the Remai Arts Centre, and across the river in Rotary Park.

When is the PotashCorp Fireworks Festival?

The Festival takes place on Friday, August 30th and Saturday, August 31st.

What time does it start?

Entertainment and attractions get underway at 5:00 pm both days at River Landing and 7:00pm both days at Rotary Park. The firework displays are set for 9:30 pm on each night.

What if it rains?

The PotashCorp Fireworks Festival will go forward rain or shine, with the only exception being severe wind and/or an electrical storm. In the event of a weather-related postponement, Sunday, September 4th will be used as an alternate fireworks night.

What is there to do at the Festival?

There are many things to experience at the PotashCorp Fireworks Festival: music, dancing, food, drinks, live entertainment, and of course . . . Fireworks!! There will be activities happening on both sides of the river so make sure to come out early in time to check everything out!

How do I get there?

Thanks to Road Map Saskatoon, a Bike Valet Service will be set up near the Remai Arts Centre at River Landing. Also, city transit will be operating buses on the normal Friday and Saturday schedules. Please visit City of Saskatoon Transit for route information. Lastly, there are a number of parking lots around the main festival area for those that need to drive. Please consider carpooling! And please plan a safe ride home.

Is there seating provided?

Some seating is provided in the Festival Pavilion at Rotary Park. Seating at the River Landing Amphitheatre (limited) is on a first-come, first-serve basis. We suggest bringing lawn chairs, blankets, etc. to make yourself comfortable somewhere on the grass.

What should I wear?

During the day, you'll need sun protection (hopefully!) and some comfortable shoes if you want to wander around throughout the day. Plan to bring a sweater or jacket for after sunset, as well as insect repellent and rain gear if necessary.

Is there food at the Festival?

Yes! There will be food vendors selling food and beverages on both sides of the river.

Are there children’s activities at the Festival?

Yes! There will be a variety of fun things for the kids, including face painting, games, and music and dance to enjoy during the daytime (River Landing), and glow sticks for after sunset.
